Dismal Falls

Dismal Falls is a beauty. A very steep, wide, even slide breaks over into a free-fall that lands on a ledge above some layered rocks, forming more attractive cascades. The stream continues over a long series of cascades below that.

You might feel dismal after attempting to hike to this falls. The portion of the hike that is on a trail is easy as pie, but from there it's rough going, dangerous and nearly impossible to reach the base of the falls. It's beautiful and remote here if you can make it. Due to the difficulty in providing accurate directions (and the danger of attempting to reach it), I haven't put together trail directions for this one yet.
